This kind of content is magnetic because it's honest, and it signals that you're someone who can navigate unfamiliar territory—which is exactly what most teams actually need.
Show up at cross-disciplinary events. If you always go to the same conference, you always meet the same people. Deliberately choose one event this year that isn't squarely in your specialty. A startup founders meetup if you're deep in infrastructure. A design sprint workshop if you're a data person. The discomfort is the point—and the connections you make there won't overlap with your existing network at all.
The Network You're Not Building Yet
The most interesting opportunities in tech don't usually come from within your specialty. They come from the edges—from someone in a different field who suddenly needs exactly what you know, or from a founder who's building something that crosses multiple disciplines and needs someone who can operate at the intersection.
